  1. It's the most wonderful time of the year! Hotly awaited games being demoed, surprise announcements, and the console wars continue to rage on. We'll be updating this post this weekend and throughout the week as all of the big players hold their press events and new games are announced. EA is kicking off E3 today with their event at 2PM Eastern time. You can watch it live here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qw16v3oGXso EA News Roundup: EA had their E3 event and showed off some new features in the upcoming WW2 shooter, Battlefield V, and announced a Battle Royale mode. Respawn CEO Vice Zampella announced a new Star Wars game called Jedi: Fallen Order, which will take place between episodes 3 and 4. Fifa 19 was then shown. Unravel 2 was announced and given a demo of the new co-op feature and surprisingly launched during it's time on stage. That's right, Unravel 2 is available right now. An EA Original was quickly announced with a short trailer called Sea of Solitude, an indie game cominf from Jo-Mei. We were then given a stage demo of an alpha for the new Command & Conquer Rivals game, coming to both iOS and Android. The alpha is already available for Android players to try. And finally EA showed the game everyone wanted to see more of after the bare-bones announcement and demo from last year, Anthem. We got the first look at the game story which appears to be a post-apocalyptic shooter, kind of Destiny meets Iron Man. The Microsoft presentation starts at 4pm Eastern, watch it live on https://mixer.com/Xbox and receive (must be logged in) the Classic Helmet REQ Pack for Halo 5. MS will hopefully have some big announcements and a lot of exclusives, especially in the wake of Crackdown 3 being delayed. Microsoft News Roundup: 50 games! Microsoft came out swinging this afternoon with 50 games, 18 exclusives (including timed exclusives), and some big announcements. Among the highlights are Crackdown 3 comign February 2019, Forza Horizon Four (taking place in Britain this time) in October, and both coming to Xbox Game Pass on launch day. 343 showed off a quick demo of their new graphics engine called Slipstream by announcing Halo (6) Infinite but no details on the story yet. Also shown were Cuphead DLC, Fallout 76, Cyberpunk 2077, The Division 2, Dying Light 2, Devil May Cry 5, Jump Force, Kingdom Hearts 3, Just Cause 4, and the really big announcement... Battletoads are back! Am I the only one thrilled by this? Ok, so the big reveal was Gears of War. Lots of Gears of War. There's 2 Gears spinoffs coming, one on mobile called Gears Pops in partnership with Funko Pop, and a turn based strategy game (think X-Com) taking place 12 years before Gears of War 1 (Pendulum Wars?) titled Gears Tactics, and of course the official announcement of Gears of War 5 along with a story scene from the game. I think the Xbox Games Pass is quickly becoming a better deal for gamers. Next up this evening are Bethesda, where I'm sure we can expect to hear more about Fallout 76. The rest of the Schedule is as follows: Bethesda - Sunday, June 10, 9:30pm Eastern Time Square Enix - Monday, June 11, 1pm Eastern Time Ubisoft - Monday, June 11, 4pm Eastern Time Sony - Monday, June 11, 9pm Eastern Time Nintendo - Tuesday, June 12, 12pm Eastern Time

    Wolfe's Switch Review

Alright after nearly 3 weeks with the console I figure it was time for my first ever console review, this will be a point form format type of review. Please note I was also insulted by Sam in Outtie's switch console review... but that's okay! The Console Console size: after getting the console via amazon and seeing the box I was very skeptical of this machine (even though I was all hyped up for Zelda) The console speed and smoothness has surprised me when running a video game to the calibre of Zelda, I've only seen my fan turned on once and it wasn't loud and quite impressive. The sound coming out of the tablet is superb considering everything how small it is. The screen quality: the bad is that it's made of plastic and apparently can scratch quite easily with the dock, that's a design flaw that shouldn't happen with this console. Nintendo should of went with a glass type screen and have a smooth material in the dock so it doesn't scratch the screen. The screen image: even though it apparently runs 720P and if you don't care about graphics all that much, it looks nice, I'm actually a person that's backing off of grade A graphics and hoping for a better gaming experience and so far with my only game i'm very satisfied. The Hard-drive, yup this is Nintendo's second console with a capacity of 32 gigs where 25 gigs is left for your gaming needs. Not the best move from Nintendo as per games get bigger in size with time. Their's the ability in the future to add a 2 Terabyte micro SD card, only problem is that those cards aren't available yet and at what price will they be available... Battery life: well as a mobile device that can ranged from 3 to 6 hours depending the game is not great, but nothing in mobile offers similar on the market. Controllers/Joy-Con My biggest concern was the feel of the controls even though watching IGN's review's from the guys that had it in advance liking the feel I was still concerned since I got bigger hands. I must say everything feels right when you have it in your hands almost feels natural when in tablet mode. The grip mode for control isn't too bad it's definitely not the greatest feel but it does very well the job. The Grip that comes with the Console doesn't give you a charging option which is stupid in our days that's a bad move by Nintendo trying to sucker in the gamers to spend 40$ on a charging Grip. I've had the chance to try the pro-controller and I got nothing but great words for it, it's probably the best feel of a controller I've ever had. The only bad part about it, is it's price at a hefty $ 90 CDN. That's the only reason I haven't purchased one yet. The Future: Probably the most exciting part of the switch will be the ability to swap and add cool controller options. The Dock The dock is likely the worst part of the switch, it has a cheap feel to it. No Ethernet port is in my mind a step backward especially if you wanna use your switch, you need to spend $40 to have an Ethernet adapter it has 2 USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0, should of been all USB 3.0, also should of have the an external hard drive slot where you can transfer data if you wanna play on the go. The UI Software It's clean, has a Google feel due to it's simplicity which does the job and that what matters. Runs faster than the WII U (god that was awful) E-shop is quite empty at the moment but like other console it will get. The Games: Ability to play some of the most classic games on the go is what will help Nintendo succeed. Zelda will likely be the game of the year and rightfully so when you can play a game this massive on the go is incredible and nothing out there is close to deliver that. No games that comes with the console hurts Nintendo, but the Xbox One and PS4 did the same thing, Although 2-1 Switch could of came with the hardware. I expect that game to come with a bundle in the near future. Big games coming: Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2 (on beta stage and very popular) is great signs for Nintendo. AAA Titles: this is Nintendo wait and see for Nintendo but when their's 50 AAA Developers already on board it almost certain to have 50 games coming within the first year. Online: Not Applicable (Major Update is coming sometime) My Final thoughts: The Nintendo Switch is quite the surprise at the end of the day. It runs smooth and quiet. I think with more games on board people will be more comfortable to spend the bucks to acquire such a hardware. Just like the Xbox One and PS4 don't be surprise for a tablet upgrade in a few years going on 4K, it's quite possible and they have every right to do so just like Sony and Microsoft did. I think Nintendo is real on this and I wish them great success. When you look at this, no other company has change the landscape more then Nintendo, by introducing an analog stick, rumble features. Although Nintendo lacks of storage and graphics this is a sturdy piece of hardware and feels good in your hands. Final score: 7.7
