  1. So far I got 3 cartridge games (Zelda Botw, SnipperClips Plus and Pokken Tournament DX) Zelda is the must have game for any Switch owner with huge replay value. SnipperClips is a little complex for younger kids but I enjoy playing with my wife. I imagine that it would be loads of fun with more adults where things can get chaotic. The easy games for kids is Pokken Tournament where any level of player can pick it up and still have fun. I can play on my own and find it challenging or the kids can play against each other and smash buttons while enjoying seeing pokemon almost alive.
  2. Shopping for the kids was done over a month ago. For my wife however, just finished yesterday after finally finding a copy of Captain Toad Treasure Tracker and Yoshi's Wolly World. She won't tell me what she got me but I know most will be game related
  3. Not only have I heard of it, I had my wife test it out on a emulator computer I was working on. She enjoyed a good hour of it but motherhood and Zelda / time...you know. But I am sure she would agree, great game!
  4. The memory I have playing with my dad was a bit of Pong but I recall he really liked some sort of tank game that was used the turning knob on the controller.
  5. My current oldest system is a Coleco Gemini (Atari clone made during that time) and I have like a dozen games for it including Donkey Kong and Mrs. Pac Man. My current missing systems are the Sega CD, Sega Saturn, SNES original (I have the mini) and the newer Xbox One and PS4. Other systems I may not have listed were never available in my area so I have no interest (such as the Lynx or the Panasonic 3DO)
  6. Some great titles I enjoyed growing up from various systems: NES - A Nightmare on Elm Street, Milon's Secret Castle Genesis - Bio-Hazard Battle, Brutal: Paws of Fury X-Box - Azurik, Vexx, Gunvalkyrie What games would you recommend that may not have been overly popular?
  7. Hey all, My name is John, been a gamer since the NES days but have some memories of playing some Atari with my dad. I am a Dad to 4 awesome kids who look like they will be hard core gamers, and I am a husband to a huge Zelda fan. I am collecting as many retro systems as I can and have few left on my want list. I own about 250 physical copies of games throughout all the systems I own. My love for collecting is part finding games from my childhood, seeing the sparkle in peoples eyes when I let them play the games from their childhood, appreciating the art and hard work put into the games and just the thrill of the hunt. My favorite titles / series are Sonic, Halo, Prince of Persia and Portal.
  8. I was going to wait for Nintendo to address some of the bending issues I had heard about. Ran into some extra money one day and my wife randomly surprised me with the Switch and Zelda when I got home. After finishing the main game, I am pleased with the purchase and look forward to some titles. Still like my Wii U but Switch is definitely a good beast to own.
  9. I got mine on launch day. I waited indoors at a Walmart in mall at about 6:30 AM, waited 15 minutes...noticed no one else was around. When I finally got up cause I thought something was off, realized that the entrance I was at was not going to open, managed to get in line outside in time to get ticket #27 of 40! Still have to wait for the resupply of the NES classic and hope for the same luck!
  10. My go to games are Sonic Adventure 2 for DreamCast (my 5 and 7 year old are playing it now a days), Gunstar Heroes, Brutal: Paws of Fury and Bio-Hazard Battle for Genesis I was (and still am) very much a Sega kid!
